Build Indiana Fund
Wagering TaxThe Build Indiana Fund was established in 1989 by the Lottery Act. In 1995, it was amended to require that revenues from the Hoosier Lottery, the riverboat gaming wagering tax, the horse racing pari-mutuel wagering tax, and the charity gaming taxes and license fees be deposited in the Lottery and Gaming Surplus Account. Today, the account funds capital improvement projects throughout the state, provides dollars for the Indiana Technology Fund, and is used to reduce Hoosiers' motor vehicle excise tax.
